Leslie Zarnowski


Leslie Zarnowski – Woodwinds (Faculty Member Since 2023): 
Leslie Reim Zarnowski completed her Bachelor of Music degree at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and her Master of Arts in Teaching from Western Carolina University.  She is a charter member of the Hendersonville Symphony Orchestra and the Hendersonville Community Band. She has performed with many regional bands and orchestras including the Hendersonville Symphony, Asheville Symphony, the Dekalb Symphony in Atlanta, Georgia, and the Brevard Philharmonic. She has performed as a guest soloist on several occasions also performing a world premiere of a bassoon solo by conductor/composer Bertle von Boer.  Leslie taught for 20 years in Henderson County Public Schools and Buncombe County Schools teaching Show Choir, Jazz Band and later Elementary Music.  She has completed her Orff Level 1 & 2 certification. Upon retirement in 2010 she completed Kindermusik training and enjoyed several year’s teaching “littles”.  Leslie continues to volunteer and work at the local middle and high schools supporting their band and orchestra programs.  Her woodwind students consistently place in district, regional, and state level competitions.

Leslie now enjoys teaching private students, playing with the Blue Ridge Orchestra, the Hendersonville Community Band, the Four Seasons Chamber Orchestra, and working in her pottery studio. Leslie lives in Hendersonville with her husband Peter, a Chef. You can find them at their booth at the Curb Market most Saturdays.
